Good morning. Mostly I’m writing this to mark when I first read the article linked below, 10 years after it was written and I find it is pointing in a direction I need to go. I’m adding this to my “Mind Garden”, but I am also feeling the urgent need to act on it as well.
We’re heading into dark times. This is how to be your own light in the Age of Trump

Today I was starting my morning as I usually do, scrolling notifications in between bathroom trip, making coffee, letting the dog out. I ended up miserably on Facebook, which is an addictive norm for me. As I scrolled through and watched a few short clips from content creators I like, I saw a new kind of ad wedged in-between the regular garbage content-I-didn’t-ask-for that the algorithm feeds me. I don’t know why, but that was a threshold moment.
My voice is my voice, and like my freedom, I may lose it if I don’t use it. For people paying attention to the media version of life, we’re “going to hell in a handbasket” and there doesn’t seem like much we can do about it. My life is not a spectator sport, it’s a finite resource. I’m writing this more for myself than for a particular audience, but if you drop by, read something of interest that you want to discuss…then “Welcome!”
