So I finished my first 5k!!

I did it! I started an addiction! This past weekend I walked in a 5k! A friend (and neighbor) and I joined with 142 other people to walk/run in the New Thing 5k. It was awesome! We shaved 8 minutes off our previously walked times and actually enjoyed it!

Why I don’t blog more…

Remember last week when I complained about not having enough time to blog?

And then, a day or so later I actually posted a somewhat long review on Amy Grant’s new book?

Well…that’s not going to happen again any time soon.

Why, you ask?

Because THIS is what happens when mommy takes 10 minutes to herself while her toddler plays quietly in the other room, and DOESN’T CHECK ON HIM…..

Yes, dear readers, there is a Santa Claus!!

I’ve received a few comments that maybe my father is Santa. Just thought I’d share this pic from a few Christmases ago. My dad is indeed Santa! 🙂 I’m sure there’s some sort of deal we can work out if you’d like me to pass your wish list along for “special attention”. **wink, wink**

Merry Christmas in July!

Happy Fathers’ Day!!

We hosted the Fathers’ Day BBQ at our house on Saturday. We had a wonderful time! It was a little toasty, but it was really nice to have everyone together. And without further ado, I would like to honor the Fathers in my life.

I am so very blessed to have such a wonderful family who all get along so very well together! I just wish we lived a little closer together.

Yuck. On so many levels.

If you live anywhere in the Chicagoland area, you are probably well aware that we have now made our way into Cicadafest 2007!!

This afternoon, I took J5 over to my in-laws to meet J4 there for dinner. (And yes, my father-in-law is J3). As I got out of the car I was almost deafened by the cicada noise. I took several pics and this video. You can hear how I feel about them right there at the end.
