Words that change me

The power of words.
There are words that inspire lofty thoughts.
There are words that get my blood boiling.

And then…there are words that sit quietly in the center of me, and when I use them, they send a flash of peace, calm, and warmth through my body.

These are powerful words.
They are words that not only change my mind, but they affect my physical body.
They are my deepest mantra.

You won’t hear me quoting them aloud, unless you are near me in a situation of great stress, and even then it would only in a whisper so I can get them a little louder than whatever is going on in my head.

They are from the Bible, and probably the first words I ever “claimed” *.
They are mildly paraphrased from Psalm 118:6.
They change me.

“God is with me. I will not fear.”
