Content – This book is so full of insight, I can guarantee you right now that my review will not come close to describing it. It has opened my eyes to the difference between believing that God exists and believing Him. I have always believed IN God, but it has become evident to me, especially after reading this book that there is a lot more to belief than just a casual acknowledgment of God’s existence.

Writing Style – Beth’s books have always been easy reading for me. Since I’ve seen her on video through a couple different Bible studies, and I’ve heard her speak listening to her daily A Quick Word, and her weekly radio lessons, I can hear her southern drawl in my head as I read. I am grateful that she also writes with great humility. There are so many inspirational Christian book authors that come off sounding very proud of the knowledge that they have to share. Beth’s writing, on the other hand, feels very grounded to me. That’s so very important to me when reading.

Re-readability – I will definitely keep this book in my library for future reading. I feel like I just skimmed the surface of the topic and look forward to reading it again – maybe even later this year.

This book teaches how to make faith an active thing. In fact, she says,

“God is calling you and me to leave the life of passivity bred by a past-tense view of faith and get caught in the act of present-active-participle believing.” (p. 22)

If you’re up for the challenge, this book is for you!
